about HOUSEFULL,
No expert comments, just a movie which makes you feel that Deepika Padukone can act, besides having a good body.
The macho presence which is usually the domain of Akshay Kumar is stolen away by Arjun Rampal. Besides the enthralling screen presence which is kinda hallmark for him, the guy is good at acting as well.
Akshay disappoints with his sympathymonger scarcely lucky begging for fun role.
Movie makes a bad start with some unfunny comedies( tragedies for Kumar) like vacuuming whole room( means everything except walls including Ritesh Deshmukh's butt)
Lara Dutta plays a depressed due to dad, daughter who had married against the wishes of strict disciplinarian father( who keeps getting lashed by his mother and lashed means literally ), who is cheered up by Deepika Padukone when she suggests her tell her father about a son she never had.
On other hand Akshay is a star-crossed friend of Lara's husband played by Ritesh Deshmukh.( Who always makes you feel that he shouldn't have disclosed his real sex to anyone and entered as a female actress, would have done better).
Now Lara fixes him up with her boss's daughter( jiyah Khan: good at only kissing) who poses to be a fitting girl for Akshay only to run away on wedding night as it turns out that she was after her father's 40 million pounds.
Now depressed Akki starts swimming and goes on untill he drowns and gets saved by a sleek and bodylicious Deepika and falls in love with her.
Now the "Great Indian Khichri" in London is on screen when Deepika's ferocious brother who is head of Indian Intelligence comes to GBR to recieve commendation for his job from Queen.(yupps that's Arjun Rampal)
All the couples fall into a combined funny chaos which makes the plight of Akshay a little less pathetic and finally " jis jhooth se kisi ka ghar base wo jhooth, jhooth nahi hota" is won over by " jo ghar jhooth par bane wo ghar ghar nahi hota"
CHEERS
WATCHABILITY: 2.5/ Watch for Arjun and Deepika+ some fun in second half.
