Misfits

hi
i think there is nothing more scavenging than writing a blog without having anyone to read it.
it really is that bad, but well what is even worse is than that is loosing the will to write.
the same happens over the time to people who fail to monetize their blogs and there isn't any other incentive like praise of the readers for them to go on.
I kept motivating my friend who is sort of a creative writing genius, but he is so stuck in his grueling day job and then comes back to family not even thinking about writing.
how come we get so misplaced in this place, every corner is filled with a mismatch, a person who isn't supposed to be where he is and moreover he doesn't even want to and despite that he doesn't know
how have we created this milieu in which everyone is a misfit, an author doing a bank job, who failed in mathematics at school. A school rhyme worth of writer becoming a star author, an actor who knows nothing about acting, and a merchant navy officer who is hell of an actor.
These shackles which we create and put around our children in the name of their safety and future drain out their courage to move in their love coveted direction. Disbalance of power in professions and creation of class and prejudice in an old imperial way is nullifying all that is being done to uplift the downtrodden. they just lie there getting nothing, how does our consciousness allows us to see this around us. Are we that slow or we just don't care and live on till the end of our lives in the cocoons woven out of social prejudices.

it is amazing just to think that these years have passed by with a swift whiff of sweet-sour life and chronologically speaking so. I somehow happened to go through a piece of paper which has been written long time back and i don't remember writing it, what i remember is that it was written for some student association. not as good but just worth having a look:
 FIGHT FOR JUSTICE
Fight for justice because if you'd accept a bit of "injustice",
they'd find another chance , which they wouldn't miss!
you'd bear pin prick and they'd have a bigger trick,
and then also if you forgive for them it would just be a bliss!
so never give in, don't even bear a pin,
or one day they'd skin your skin.
as bright is the sun's light, should be your "fight"
so that those, all those, accepting, hearing and bearing 'in'justice get a directional might.
the day when all of them would take 'in' out of the injustice & they would give a cry of fright, that would be completion of fight for justice, your fight, everybody's fight, your light, everybody's light, so bright that there's no dark night. so come on and fight and fight and fight.......FIGHT.

Nothing much but deserves a consideration since it has been written a long time back now it would be 14 yrs ago.

KITES

Storylight:
J is a smalltime hustler in Vegas, who likes to make money by teaching in dance classes and marrying gals looking for green card for money, untill one of his students who is crazy in love for him turns out to be daughter of bigshot businessman of Vegas.
J is getting nearer to what he wants viz money, but only for the Mexican fiancée of his mean haughty and cruel would be brother in law, who can't speak either English or Hindi but the language of love( shadow signs) and has barged into the family for the same reasons as J.
So finally the Love wins and they decide to choose life over the pelf, but the rich business family with media, cops and goons on their side are able to force the lovers to commit suicide in a very Shakespearean way. But hail bollywood, the lovers meet again under the waters they had committed suicide.

i think they are confused what they wanna make,
Bollywood old styled movie with Hollywood styled subtitles in Hindi, people speaking in English for most of the time and Bollywood's melodramatic futile attempts at extracting more than it deserves from a scene.
Fashion, Looks, Sceneries, are plus points, locations too good, all the characters are so well dressed up that it seems they'd do better for a photoshoot, but sad same is evident from their acting( that they are photoshoot guys.
For Hritvik crazy babes, tanned, perfectly crafted 6 pack abs, a treat.
Leggy soft spoken Barbara Mori for guys, but i think sometimes she pouts a little too much and smiles a little more than required.( though you should smile as much as you can)
No story, poor script, slow moving car chases, (first half literally drags) and a good but non matching soliloquy, guess trailers were too good.
Too slow to be called an action movie, too lame to make the love story click( kisses never came at right times, what were they afraid of censor?, media? or themselves?).
2.5/5: Go for locations, fashion.

the phone smell

It was those times when the phone was a luxury not necessity, i remember sneaking into my father's office to see the black colored magneto of those times, which has to be literally wrrrrung to talk to people, then there was this special 'case' in which rested that nice soft and elegant blue coloured telephone which smelled of the latest unused technology, and i could understand that instinct that drove mankind for newer inventions was lying somewhere near those parts of brain which make us happy on purchase of new clothes, new toys, new bicycle.

about HOUSEFULL,
No expert comments, just a movie which makes you feel that Deepika Padukone can act, besides having a good body.
The macho presence which is usually the domain of Akshay Kumar is stolen away by Arjun Rampal. Besides the enthralling screen presence which is kinda hallmark for him, the guy is good at acting as well.
Akshay disappoints with his sympathymonger scarcely lucky begging for fun role.
Movie makes a bad start with some unfunny comedies( tragedies for Kumar) like vacuuming whole room( means everything except walls including Ritesh Deshmukh's butt)
Lara Dutta plays a depressed due to dad, daughter who had married against the wishes of strict disciplinarian father( who keeps getting lashed by his mother and lashed means literally ), who is cheered up by Deepika Padukone when she suggests her tell her father about a son she never had.
On other hand Akshay is a star-crossed friend of Lara's husband played by Ritesh Deshmukh.( Who always makes you feel that he shouldn't have disclosed his real sex to anyone and entered as a female actress, would have done better).
Now Lara fixes him up with her boss's daughter( jiyah Khan: good at only kissing) who poses to be a fitting girl for Akshay only to run away on wedding night as it turns out that she was after her father's 40 million pounds.
Now depressed Akki starts swimming and goes on untill he drowns and gets saved by a sleek and bodylicious Deepika and falls in love with her.
Now the "Great Indian Khichri" in London is on screen when Deepika's ferocious brother who is head of Indian Intelligence comes to GBR to recieve commendation for his job from Queen.(yupps that's Arjun Rampal)
All the couples fall into a combined funny chaos which makes the plight of Akshay a little less pathetic and finally " jis jhooth se kisi ka ghar base wo jhooth, jhooth nahi hota" is won over by " jo ghar jhooth par bane wo ghar ghar nahi hota"
CHEERS

WATCHABILITY: 2.5/ Watch for Arjun and Deepika+ some fun in second half.

RAVAN MUSIC

Rehman does it again, one of the songs "mujhe behne de" by Kartik and Irfaan is reminicient of his musical hit Dil Se's "Satrangi re", rest songs are upbeat like "thok de killi" by Sukhwinder "kata kata" featuring Sapna Awasthi's voice( again reminicient of DIl Se) and that serenity of usual Rehman's music is retained in songs like "khilli re" by Rene Bhardwaj and "ranjha ranjha" by Rekha Bhardwaj and a nice fusion is seen with folk music in "ranjha ranjha" and "kata kata" but the stealer is "beera beera" by Vijay and Mustafa. Music seems to be in tune with the theme of movie and it convincingly indicates what kind of characters we can find in the movie. A mixed but wholesome experience.

Audibility: 4/5 He never fails to impress.

HUM TUM AUR GHOST

Arshad Warsi as a funny little godbrother was nice in each and every movie Munnabhai1& 2 and Hulchul,we could still see the shades of same character.
Diya is good, graceful as usual, Boman Irani does his part but he can't help the poor direction, dialog not coming in time to click and take the momentum of movie forward in first half.
Arshad is good with his witty actions, hilarious face and quickliiners.
Movie gains pace in second half, but almost everything is predictable,
a good time pass movie, and an education for your girlfriends, so definitely a one time see with ur girlfriend.
But here as well Warsi is a li'l funny godbrother of other writers.

Watchability: 2/5, may go if you don have anything else to do
